The Limits of Muscle Training: Athletic Skill Development Over Muscle Strength

After doing a total of 500 push-ups over three days, I tried doing pull-ups and found that I could only do six reverse-hand pull-ups (just randomly) and one pull-down.

When it comes to exercise, apart from being suited to it, people tend to only be able to perform the movements they've practiced. That's why I cut down on the number of push-ups I do.

You should focus on aerobic exercise. For those of us with little fighting experience, strength and other factors are key. Self-defense is usually about explosive power and agility. However, I think elite athletes rely more on aerobic exercise than strength.

Dodge is certainly the best defense in a given situation, but

I want to improve my physical abilities.

If we're not professionals or athletes, it's impossible for us to become true superhumans.

Older people are stronger for their age.

As a boy, I tried to become a superhuman, too. I was ignorant. I tried as many acrobatic moves as possible at home, running down rocky slopes (maybe because I wasn't exercising enough), and at a certain speed, but I couldn't keep it up and couldn't become a superhuman. I didn't think much about nutrition, either.

But what do you aim for? What do you aim for when you know that it's not the strongest?

I feel like I had exceptionally good overall athletic ability.

Of course, weights are important. But I wanted some amazing aerobic skills.

I'm doing fewer push-ups, even though I know it's better to strengthen synaptic connections.

I'm still not good at bump-ups.

It turns out that, unlike what we might imagine, there are fewer people among the economically wealthy who have superior fighting skills than we thought, except for fighters.

The same goes for the socially advantaged classes that exist by age. Maybe it's best not to worry about it too much.
