Collection of Japanese Dorcus titanus overwintering individuals
It is an attempt to raise larvae of the longhorn beetle. In Japan, it is called Teppoumushi, and some people see it as a treat. Their characteristic is a large round hole in how to eat the rotten tree.
Dorcus titanus larvae are expected to emerge safely. Wood splitting is done on decayed trees. It is prohibited by law to put hatchets and axes into living trees. Also, nature conservation parks and restricted areas cannot be used. Fallen trees are hard materials that are protected and overlooked for stag beetle larvae from next year onwards
